Following a fire in 2019, the glorious gothic cathedral in Paris, Notre Dame, was finally re-opened again in December of 2024. In celebration of this very special moment, the French national Mint, Monnaie De Paris, created this wonderful silver coin.
Minted in 99.9% pure silver, this official French issue is shaped like the architecture of this grand medieval building. On the front, the outside of the cathedral, including the famous stained glass window at the top. On the back, the inside of Notre Dame, including the the oak flèche and roof timbers that were destroyed in the 2019 fire.
Typically high quality, as is everything from the French National Mint, no more than 5,000 of this coin have been issued.
