The Titans. A race of huge deities that ruled Ancient Greek Mythology in the time before Zeus and the other gods of Olympus. Said to be the offspring of the sky and the Earth, the Titans were led by Cronus in the mythological Golden Age. That is, until he was overthrown by his own son, Zeus, and imprisoned! The Titan Rhea is, creepily, both the older sister of Cronus and the mother of his five eldest Olympian God offspring - Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Poseidon, Zeus, plus Hades, ruler of the Underworld.
This Ultra High Relief silver coin is the third in a series featuring the Titans of Ancient Greece. Struck by the Mint of Poland, the sheer artistry on display on this coin is incredible. Starting with a remarkably intricate design, the minters in Poland have then added two mother of pearl inserts to the ultra high relief strike; its simply, and fittingly, glorious.
