One of the biggest bands in the world, Ireland’s U2 has, unbelievably, been together for 50 years! This very special, official, Ireland two-euro issue celebrates the anniversary whilst simultaneously becoming the first Irish coin to feature a living person – all four members of U2!
This coin, designed in close collaboration with U2 themselves, and depicting all four original-and-current members of the band is no longer available from the Central Bank of Ireland. Demand, unsurprisingly, has sold this one out quick smart, and prices have risen rapidly since release in late-September 2026.
At the time of writing, this coin is not available elsewhere in Australia and it would be a real challenge to find it anywhere else across the world.
