Commemorating two significant steps forward in Australia's troubled relationship with its Indigenous cultures, this 50c coin honours both the Wave Hill Walk Off in 1966 and the Aboriginal Land Rights Act of 1976.
The coin features a design created in collaboration with Gurindji people showing a stylised representation of the Wave Hill Walk-Off, an artistic representation of the iconic 'hand over' between Gough Whitlam & Vincent Lingiari, as well as micro text of Lingiari quotes.
An important commemoration like this deserves its confirmed place as a circulation coin but, of course, the ONLY way to get one in true collectable Uncirculated condition is here, on this presentation card.
