A unique new look for the official New Zealand Kiwi coin series, the 2026 issue was designed by Māori artist Shane Hansen.
Depicting a North Island brown kiwi calling in the night with marama (the moon) above, Shane was inspired by the sounds of kiwi near his home, and his children’s participation in recovery programmes in Tūtūkākā.
Struck from a huge five ounces of 99.9% pure silver, this coin measures a massive 65mm in diameter. Packaged in a display case with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity, no more than 250 will be released.
