Released late in 2024, this official Japan set contains all 6 circulating coins for 2024, struck to perfect proof quality. But, of course, the really interesting aspect here is this set's commemoration of the King of monsters, Godzilla! First appearing on film in 1954, Godzilla marked their 70th anniversary in 2024! As such, the Japan Mint chose to add a full colour, sterling silver medal depicting this terrifying-yet-beloved beast!
Of the miniscule 20,000 sets produced, only 89 of the 2024 Japan Godzilla Proof Set will emerge into the rest of the world. That is an absurdly low figure for an Annual Coin Set.
