Beloved, admired, and for the time being, greatly missed... Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris is one of the greatest examples of French Gothic Architecture in existence. Standing proud since first completion in 1260, this beauty was burnt by fire in 2019. However, the fix is now on, with hopes that it can be back to its former glory for the 2024 Summer Olympics in the city.
This special, high relief silver coin honours the French landmark in a truly spectacular way! Featuring the outer, Gothic façade on the reverse, looming up out of green tree foliage in the foreground, the background then features the famous West Rose Window. On the obverse, the equally famous North Rose Window and the 17th century sculpture, Pieta.
Struck from two ounces of 99.9% pure silver, the detail and relief on display here is impressive. More than that though, the coin is beautiful. How can it not be, with subject matter such as Notre Dame De Paris???
