One of Queen Elizabeth II’s most iconic brooches, the flower-shaped Williamson Diamond Brooch has at its centre, a gorgeous pink diamond, one of the largest and finest of its kind. A wedding gift from Canadian geologist John Thoburn Williamson, this extraordinary jewel was cut and set into a platinum-and-diamond brooch completed in 1953, the year of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. Her Majesty frequently wore the brooch throughout her seven-decade reign, and it appeared in family portraits, at State occasions and momentous celebrations — including the Silver Jubilee Service in 1977.
This official Royal Canadian Mint collector coin, minted from 99.99% pure silver, commemorates the Royal brooch in style, complete with pink glass stone in the centre, mimicking the real, and priceless, pink diamond.
