A unique new look for the official New Zealand Kiwi coin series, the 2026 issue was designed by Māori artist Shane Hansen.
Depicting a North Island brown kiwi calling in the night with marama (the moon) above, Shane was inspired by the sounds of kiwi near his home, and his children’s participation in recovery programmes in Tūtūkākā.
Released regularly for at least two decades, the Kiwi series continues in 2026! Minted from TWO OUNCES of 99.9% pure silver, this 50mm diameter coin features a black Proof finish and selective gold-plating.
