It has been 80 years since the end of the Second Great War and, as we head towards what might be troubled times, The UK's Royal Mint has decided to honour the end of this conflict and pay tribute to those who sacrificed everything in War.
This official UK legal tender 50p coin features three service decorations awarded during World War II - the War Medal 1939–45, the Defence Medal and the 1939–45 Star. A simple design, it is still incredibly evocative of a time that we all hope never comes back around again.
