2025 Alderney £500 Una & Lion 5oz Gold Proof Coin NGC FDI PF70 SIgned Label
Designed to commemorate the beginning of Queen Victoria's reign in 1837, the Una & Lion gold crown is often considered among the top five most beautiful coins ever struck. First issued in 1839 - 187 years ago - Una & Lion has inspired many mints and artists since.
Minted from a massive 5 ounces of gold, this Una & Lion coin was carefully recreated by Jody Clark - the last designer to produce a portrait of HRH Queen Elizabeth II. Appropriately for such a special release, the first 50 coins off the presses were sent to NGC for grading - where they achieved the highest of grades PROOF 70!
Bearing the official NGC Label declaring the coin as PF70, each of these coins also bears the First Day of Issue certification, as well as the designer, Jody Clark's signature.
