In 1918, The Great War shuffled into its 5th year... already an immense tragedy, hope for a resolution must have been at its lowest ebb. Conversely though, after a number of key battle victories on the Western Front - perhaps most notably the Battle of Amiens, that triggered the Hundred Days Offensive - a ceasefire would be declared and the Armistice became official on the 11th of November, 1918. This most incredible loss of life, and continent-wide battlefields... were finally over.
100 years later, we look back and commemorate the brave soldiers who fought valiantly for their countries, and their families at home.
