Incredibly timely, as the world slowly shifts out of a global pandemic, this official Royal Mint UK collector coin honours Edward Jenner, the man who tested, and proved the effectiveness of a Smallpox vaccine in 1796. His efforts went on to save millions of lives and allowed the World Health Organisation to declare Smallpox as officially eradicated.
Featuring a clever design of a smallpox cell, surrounded by representations of the many many lives the vaccine has saved, this is an excellent collectable and tribute to an important historical figure.
Available here as a silver proof coin, housed in typically informative Royal Mint packaging.
Mintage just 2510.
