Unlike many collector coins minted out in the world these days, this issue has been created purely for aesthetic reasons. There's no commemorative date, no historical theme... nothing! In which case, the design needs to be powerful; it needs to be beautiful. And, well, there's no denying that - this is an incredibly detailed and BEAUTIFUL precious metal collector coin.
Utilising a design by a young French artist named Louis Gibiard, this Lithuanian Mint issue is inspired by the doors of the Duomo di Milano, in Italy. However, instead of the religious imagery seen on that Cathedral, Gibiard added a unicorn, a stag, a lion, and an eagle. What's more, a serpent can be seen writhing through this design too!
Measuring a large 50mm in diameter, and minted from two ounces of 99.9% pure silver, only 500 of this jaw-dropping coin will ever be produced.
