Among the most beautiful coins ever produced, the Royal Mint's Gothic Crown of 1847 is a genuine numismatic work of art. Created by master engraver, William Wyon for his Queen, Victoria, the portrait features Her Majesty in a medieval, Gothic style and is outstandingly attractive. On the reverse of the crown, a highly detailed design of the coats of arms of England, Scotland, and Ireland. The text around the rim can be clearly identified too, as a gothic style.
This tremendous modern collector coin release recreates that century-and-half old silver coin in stunning fashion. Updating the design to reflect Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and celebrating her 95th Birthday in 2021, there are two coins. The first features the original 1847 Victoria portrait on the reverse, and the second features the original Gothic shield reverse. Both coins in the pair feature a BRAND NEW Jody Clark obverse portrait of the current Queen, in a Gothic style, both matching and contrasting with that of her great-great-grandmother.
Struck to proof quality, all coins produced will be independently graded by PCGS, and only the perfect PF70 examples will be made available.
