One of the major historic sites in the Chinese Capital City of Beijing, the Forbidden City served as the the Imperial Palace for 24 Emperors from the year construction began in 1368 up until 1911. In 2020, the Palace celebrates the 600th anniversary since construction was completed, in 1420.
This rectangular coin celebrates the occasion with a gold-plated and red enamelled depiction of the front gates allowing entry to the Forbidden City.
Housed in a blister on an informative presentation card, only 3,000 of this value-for-money collector coin were struck.
