For 2020, the Japan Mint's Coin Set features a special silver medallion, only available in this set! Commemorating 'technology', the medallion is square-shaped, 17.5 millimetres across, and comprises 4.36 grams of .999 silver. Honouring the theme, it has been struck using a technique which includes an innovative iridescent colour treatment, highlighting design elements that change colour when viewed from different angles.
Also comprising each of the six traditional circulating coins in immaculate Uncirculated condition, it is entirely appropriate that one of those coins, the 500 Yen coin (first minted 20 years ago in 2000), is produced using four types of anti counterfeiting technology - latent images, helical ridges, micro dots, and micro stripes!
Highly limited and hard to find outside of Japan, this set is limited to 30,000 sets only - most of which will never be available!
