In December 1970, then-German Chancellor, Willy Brandt travelled to Warsaw, Poland to sign the Warsaw Treaty between Poland and the FRG. Whilst there, Brandt performed one of the most meaningful gestures made by any politician, when he knelt before the memorial for those who died at the hands of German military in the Warsaw Ghetto uprising of 1943.
Struck at one the five different state mints within Germany, each coin has one of either 'A' for Berlin, 'D' for Munich, 'F' for Stuttgart, 'G' for Karlsruhe, or 'J' for Hamburg mintmarks upon the reverse.
Commemorating one of the most solemn events in modern history, the German 2€ Mintmark Pack is a wonderful keepsake.
