Following the achievement of independence, the new free statue of Ireland needed new coinage too! And so it was that Percy Metcalfe's designs were chosen. And, with this series, running from 2010 through 2012, the Central Bank of Ireland celebrated three of those auspicious new coins - the Horse, the Salmon, and the Hound.
Struck from Sterling silver, each coin in this series looks superb. Traditionally, and simply designed, they nevertheless look elegant and beautiful. Minted in Sterling silver, each coin measures 38.6mm in diameter.
