Mercuriceratops was named in 2014, based on a skull fossil first discovered in Montana some years earlier, then again, later, in Alberta, Canada. Named after the Roman God Mercury - due to the wing-like elements on its Ceratopsian frill - Mercury is a newly described relative of Triceratops!
Bearing a face value of $20, this Canadian pure silver coin depicts a reconstructed skull of Mercury, as verified by the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology. Struck from just over an ounce (31.39 grams) of 99.99% pure silver, each skull coin has also been plated in the rare element, Black Rhodium.
Presented in a case with authenticity, no more than 10,000 of this official legal tender $20 coin will be issued.
