The first issue in the ‘Equinox & Solstice’ series, this pure silver collector coin depicts the ancient temple of Mnajdr in Malta. Built sometime during the 4th millennium BCE, Mnajdra has a remarkable feature - during both the vernal and autumnal equinoxes, the sun shines directly in through the front door of the temple!
Struck using the CIT's smartminting technology, this coin features tremendous ultra high relief on both sides. The most incredible example: the shadows of the worshippers. That's not colour, its an amasing example of minting technique!
