Though this 5c coin represents just the 8th Australian 5c date ever issued, probably the most amazing thing about it is that it is now almost 50 years old and is still in superb shape!
Despite almost 50 million 5c struck in 1973, its clear that so very few of them could possibly have made it through unscathed until now. At the time, Australia's third lowest denomination, the 5c became the smallest and, theoretically, widest spread circulated coin 30 years ago, in 1991. Given that status, this recent find of a broken Mint roll containing a bunch of perfect coins... was a phenomenal piece of luck!
Each Mint condition 1973 5c coin will be packed in a PVC-free SAFLIP.
